หลวงพ่อเงินพุทะโชติ มีนามเดิมว่า “เงิน" "กิดวันศุกร์ เดือน 10 ปีฉลู พ.ศ. 2353 มีพี่น้องร่วม 6 คน เมื่อมีอายุครบบวช  ได้อุปสมบทที่วัดตองปุ หรือวัดชนะสงคราม มีฉายาว่า “พุทธโชติ” และได้ศึกษาเล่าเรียนหนังสือไทย และหนังสือขอม เพราะสมัยก่อนแหล่งสรรพความรู้ต่าง ๆ อยู่ตามวัด ต้องไปขอศึกษาจากพระ โดยจะต้องขอฝากตัวเป็นศิษย์คอยรับใช้ พร้อมกับขอถ่ายทอดความรู้
หลวงพ่อเงินได้มรณภาพ เมื่อวันศุกร์ แรม 11 ค่ำ ปีมะแม พ.ศ. 2462 รวมอายุ 109 ปี
